Big Brother Naija’s Lucy Essien Becomes FWS’s Brand Ambassador

ACTOR and former Big Brother Naija housemate Lucy Edet Essien has become the brand ambassador of Fidossi Wines & Spirits (FWS), a leading distributor of Italian wines and spirits brands in Nigeria.

The company recently signed on the Big Brother Naija star in Lagos. She is expected to leverage her rising profile to lead the market penetration drive of FWS’s top brands, which include Vecchia Romagna (VR) 1820, MOOD Luminous Italian Champagne, and Amaro Montenegro Bitters.

Essien, an actor, model, and brand influencer, gained recognition by participating in the Big Brother Naija 2020 edition. Her return as part of the recent All-Star edition further solidified her popularity. With a substantial online following and a reputation for sharing insightful opinions on social media, she is well-positioned to represent FWS’s top brands.

Essien commented on her ambassadorship, “I am delighted to be a part of the FWS brand family. We share a fit. VR 1820, MOOD Luminous Italian Champagne, and Amaro Montenegro are Premium quality brands associated with class. There are hardly any better options for wine and spirits lovers.”

She added, “As part of my engagement with the brand, I will be involved in meet-and-greets across popular retail. I will visit high-volume consumption points across events and clubs to engage with fans and consumers. It’s going to be an interesting experience. Fans should look out for VR 1820, MOOD Luminous Italian Champagne, and Amaro Montenegro Bitters.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Fidossi Wines & Spirits, Fidelis Egbochie, hailed the partnership. He said, “We are glad to have Lucy Edet on board the FWS clan. She has created an impressive persona across channels since she hit the limelight in 2020. Her commitment to quality engagement across platforms resonates with our brand.”

Egbochie also discussed Nigeria’s wine and spirits market, noting that it has experienced significant growth in recent years as consumers continue to show interest in the product category, particularly premium and imported brands.

“Considering the penchant for premium quality wine and spirit brands among consumers, Fidossi Wines & Spirits continuously combs the best vines and wineries worldwide to ensure the best-in-class products are available across retail shelves and occasions. VR 1820, MOOD Luminous Italian Champagne and Amaro Montenegro Bitters are drawing preference because they appeal to the trendy taste of the Nigerian upscale consumers,” he explained.
