Big Brother Naija drama ends today

After 78 days, the Big Brother Naija reality show will come to a halt and a winner will finally emerge. Nigerians, who are arguably the biggest consumers in terms of viewership across the African continent are waiting with bated breath to know who will be crowned winner.

The show appeared to have struggled to live up to expectations at the outset, as many people questioned the decision of the organisers to change ‘Big Brother’s voice.’ That was not all.

There was also the issue of hosting a show largely meant for the Nigerian audience in South Africa but the organisers were quick to counter the claims with plausible reasons, and the show commenced in full with its drama and twist.

BBN had assured viewers of surprises and twist this season and indeed, there were surprises.

One of such surprises was the return of Khloe and Anto, who had earlier been evicted. Many people queried the decision, while others concluded that they only returned to the house as fake housemates to cause more drama and introduced new twist that seemed to be missing at that time.

A social commentator in a twitter post had asked a few weeks back that “One may be tempted to ask why they were returned to the house same day and got evicted same day?”

The show, will today, see one of the last five of Cee C, Nina, Miracle and Toby become N45 million richer.

Nigerian celebrities, in the past few days,  have used their popularity status to canvass for votes for their favourite housemates. While Tonto Dikeh, Toyin Abraham, Dabota Lawson, Pasuma among others, had publicly declared their support for their favourites through their social media platforms, others were said to have also deployed other means of winning more votes for their own.

Information gathered by R revealed that Tobi and Miracle were the leading contenders of the five housemates standing, a development that appears to had caused a sharp division among celebrities.Tobi was said to have won the hearts of many people days back following the arguement that ensued between him and Cee C, one that was capable of running his chances if he had retaliated. Despite Cee C’s abusive and foul words, young Tobi stayed calm and won the hearts of many Nigerians for exhibiting rare maturity. Miracle was said to have been underrated due to know fault of his. He was said to be weak, but the young pilot came out of his shell and regained his confidence.

As Nigerians wait on who wins Biggie’s 45 million naira today in the winner-takes-all competition, the stage is set for the next ‘Efe’ in the making.
