AUDITIONS began today for the Big Brother Naija 2019 reality TV competition and the Nigerian Tribune findings across Nigeria, indicate that it has recorded possibly the highest ever population in the history of the series. Since the producers of the Big Brother Naija announced the return of the fourth season of the show, while also revealing that the Big Brother House will be in Nigeria, most had expressed excitement at the cheering news.

And so, across eight locations in Nigeria including Lagos, Calabar, Enugu, Benin, Ibadan, Warri, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, thousands of youths had flooded the venues with the hopes of being chosen among the finalists that would compete in the Big Brother House for the ultimate prize, as sponsored by Bet9ja.

As early as 1 a.m in Lagos, hopefuls were seen entering the venue of the auditions, in a bid to be among the first set to be auditioned. In Ibadan, at the Mauve 21 event centre, venue of the auditions, hopefuls were seen in large numbers from around 5 a.m. This was also the case in most venues around Nigeria thus indicating increased awareness about the benefits the platform of BBNaija offers.

Many also attributed the current ASUU strike that has crippled the nation’s universities to the increased number of available hopefuls for the competition.
