A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Matthew Oyerinmade has described the winner of this year’s Sun Newspapers Most Supportive Nigerian First Lady, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, and her husband, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), as worthy torchbearers of the state at every point of reference.
Oyerinmade, described the intervention and giant strides of her involvement in women’s health and advocacy, girl child care and support as building strong pillars for family support and well-being of the people of the state and Nigeria.
In his congratulatory message made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Sunday, he lauded Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu’s fast-rising profile in humanitarian services which has been receiving accolades across the world.
A Senatorial hopeful, he said, “the founder of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has been a huge supporter of Governor Akeredolu’s government through her several other progressive initiatives including Bemore, FOWOSO, Ondo Widows Care, Solayo Birth Kits and Vanguards and Ondo Summer Tennis Clinic.
“These programmes, have benefited a number of women, girls, and young people in many other places aside Ondo State”.
Mrs Anyanwu-Akeredolu was honoured by The Sun Newspapers for her commitment to the development of the girl-child through the use of technological values, her awareness on periodic cancer testing, through which the disease has been demystified as a killer through BRECAN, and her advocacies for women empowerment and all-round development.
