Benue’s bounty on terror suspect

Published by

The decision of the Benue State government to give N5 million as a reward to anyone who gives information that can lead to the arrest of Terwase Agwaza, a terror suspect popularly known as Gana, is completely wrong.

A state government that owes its workers up to six or seven months’ salaries and allowances should not give out such an amount of money as a reward to anyone for anything.

The amount in question could help to reduce the outstanding salaries and allowances of many workers in the state.

Herdsmen have been killing people in the state. Just how much would be given as a reward to anyone that can give information which will facilitate or lead to the arrest of these herdsmen in the state?

I advise that the Benue State government should give equal attention to all the issues causing underdevelopment in the state, most especially corruption.
