Benue woman killed, dumped in dumpsite

Residents of Nyinman in Makurdi, capital city of Benue were shocked to behold the lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified young woman wrapped in a nylon bag.

The body was dumped at a refuse site and it was one of her legs that shot out of the nylon bag that made a resident who had gone to dispose off refuse to discover it and alert other neighbors.

Policemen later took the corpse to the morgue.

A police source said that a young woman was killed and her body was dumped at a refuse site.

According to the source, “Yes we got information that a young lady was killed and her body was seen. We don’t know what happened and we didn’t see any trace of violence on her body; no marks, no wound or blood.

“They just tied her body in a white bed sheet, put her in a sack, and dumped her at a dump site at Nyiman layout of Makurdi

“The police is still investigating to unravel what actually happened. There is suspicions that she may have died in a hotel because the bed sheet looks like the ones they use in a hotel,” the source said.

He said the body was removed and deposited at the mortuary at the Federal Medical Center

When contacted, the state command spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident.

Anene who noted that there is no detail regarding her death yet said “For now there is no information yet but we believe we will get details, dig into it, and find out what actually happened we intend to”.
