Benue SUBEB honours hardworking staff as Board celebrates GOVTECH award

The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) presented recent awards won by the board to staff at the board headquarters on Wednesday.

The board received accolades for being the best State Universal Basic Education Board in ICT integration, while Dr. Adagba, the Executive Chairman, was honoured with the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award.

These national awards recognised the board’s outstanding digital initiatives under Dr. Adagba’s leadership.

During the meeting, Dr Adagba credited these achievements to the unwavering dedication of the staff, emphasising that their collective efforts were crucial to national recognition. He also surprised staff members with awards for their commitment and exceptional performance. Among those honoured were:

Danladi Ochefu – Internal Auditor
Dr. Terzungwe Akaa – Director, Planning, Research, and Statistics
Mr. Terkimbir Akura – Director, Teacher Professional Development
Dr. Margaret Ugba
Lois Gbenyi – Protocol/Welfare Officer
Jeremiah Mtsenga – Staff Officer
Eric Mchihi – Secretary to the Executive Chairman
Ene Tyolanga – Helpline Operator
Louise Ioron – Desk Officer, Cleaning
Architect Dickson Orkoh – Member, Project Design and Implementation Committee
Engr. Berikusu Musa – Member, Project Design and Implementation Committee
Staff members expressed their gratitude for the national recognition and awards.

To address operational challenges in the Physical Planning and Technical Services Department, Dr Adagba announced a financial provision aimed at alleviating the increasing workload and boosting staff morale, thereby fostering high performance within the board.
