Benue PDP picks Dino, as returning officers, Mark, Moro, Suswam, others as polling agents for rerun election

Benue State Chapter of  Peoples Democratic Party has picked a Senator from Kogi West senatorial district,  Senator Dino Melaye as one of his returning officers for the re-run governorship election.

So also were the appointment of former Senate president, Senator David Mark, governor Samuel Ortom, former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam as well as former minister of Interior, Abba Moro as polling agents for the re-run governorship election holding next Saturday.

Though, the party publicity secretary in the state, Bemgba Iortyom declined comment on the list of names of  polling agents and returning officers by the party.

But our correspondent  saw the list report that 24 names of polling agents and two returning officers were picked and submitted to the INEC office in Makurdi.

Others include; the former director general of National Agency Foods and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC,  Dr Paul Orhi, Speaker of the State Assembly, Titus Uba and the Secretary to the State Government, Tony Ijohor SAN.

Also were,  the state chairman of the party, John Ngbede, the State Attorney General, Michael Gusa and the National Auditor of the party, Agbo Emmanuel.

It also includes; Mike Mku, Franc Utoo, Dr Elijah Ikpaor, Professor Tor Iorapuu, Steven Iyorchir, Mark Gbillah, Dave Iorhemba, Tyorkyan Cletus, Orker Jev, Bemgba Iortyom, Matthew Nyinta, David Tsevedo, Cyril Gajir and Tersegu Tsegba.

Senator Dino Melaye and former attorney general of the state, Alex Adum were the returning officers.

The information officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Andya Terkaa said he could not confirm the report but added that such information was not meant for the public.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission had declared the election in the state inconclusive and ordered a supplementary election.

The INEC had also declared Saturday, March 23,  for a re-run election in the state.
