Yaro who in a statement made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday said that the plan of the herdsmen militia is to wipe out Benue people.
The statement which was signed by the director of publicity of the party, Peterhot Apeh also described the attack on the worship place, as barbaric, unwarranted and an attempt to challenge God by killing his anointed servants.
He called on the Federal government and security agencies to stand up to their responsibilities by arresting those behind the attack and make them face the wrath of the law.
According to him, ‘let me say categorically here, that this is another moment of grief in Benue state. I am speechless, I am worried that this thing is happening at a time that our party is running the government of this nation.’
“The situation is barbaric, uncalled for and unacceptable because it can be likened to insurgency. The Government must act fast to address the situation”, Yaro said.
