According to a statement by the project manager, Anteyi Grace Ene, the 2018 edition promises to improve on the successes of previous editions as the event has become one of the most sought-after in the country.
The initiative has showcased talents and potentials of young ladies, as well as discouraged them from anti-social behaviours and also created a platform to embrace diverse culture.
The pageant with the theme: “Unity in Diversity” will parade 23 contestants as representatives from different states of the country, while the winner will get a brand new car. Cash and numerous endorsements will also be given to others.
“Every year, a theme which addresses issues that are germane to the development and growth of the girl child/woman is chosen to further drive home the essence of the contest, which ultimately is to help them become role models and pride of the Idoma land both within and outside the shores of this country.
“But for this year, we have settled for Unity in Diversity. Unity is essential especially in a country with enormous culture and colour. In unity we can achieve more than what we bargained for,” she said.
