Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has applauded the Federal Government for the recruitment of 7,425 unemployed graduates of the state origin into the second batch of its N-Power program.
The governor said the programme had further shown that the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, was determined to improve the standard of living of the people of Nigeria.
Bello, who spoke through the Coordinator of the N-Power programme in the state, Hon. Adoga Ibrahim noted that the program, which was part of the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given hope to the beneficiaries of the programme.
According to him, the beneficiaries were selected on merit from the 21 local government council of the state.
He noted that the recruitment of the unemployed graduates into the scheme was timely and had further created emoluments for many Nigerian youths that had been idle for years.
The governor explained that those that were selected were mostly from underprivileged backgrounds with the aim of empowering those in the category.

Bello, however, expressed appreciation to Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for the introduction of the N-Power scheme under which beneficiaries are entitled to N30,000 stipend per month.
He re-affirmed the support of the people and government of Kogi State for the President in his quest to make the country a better place to live and to better the lots of the Nigerian masses.
“ We will work to strengthen the effort of the President Buhari led-administration by ensuring that the beneficiaries are deployed to critical areas that will impact the development of the state,” Bello said.
He, however, charged the beneficiaries to give their best of services to the nation and refrain from any form of misconduct, saying that to whom much is given, much is expected.
Ibrahim, who is also the Focal person of the Social Investment Program in Kogi State, who coordinates the N-Power program in the state also said, beneficiaries would be issued their letters of deployment very soon.
He also said they would be trained before being deployed to the places of primary assignment.
