Be good ambassadors, NYSC Ondo boss tasks Corps members

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Ondo, Mrs Victoria Nnenna Ani has charged corps members to be good ambassadors and also ensure that their service has huge impact on society.

The State Coordinator made the charge while debriefing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ (Stream 1) corps members as part of activities to round off the three-week orientation course.

Mrs Ani said that the essence of the exercise is to spell out guidelines that corps members are expected to follow throughout the service year having successfully completed the first phase which is the orientation course.

The NYSC Ondo boss said that the Scheme has given a promising and guaranteed future to several millions of graduate youths who have passed through the programme and urged the members of the service corps to see their participation as an opportunity to give their best uniting the country.

She stated that during the service year, the corps members should be vigilant and ensure that their security is not compromised.

The State Coordinator emphasised on the directive that corps members should avoid night journeys and reiterated that the Scheme in the state have an understanding with stakeholders in the transport industry to enforce ‘NO TO NIGHT JOURNEYS’ directive.

“We can never be tired of emphasising and reiterating on the need to continually advise you not to engage in such adventure. The nation, your parents, loved ones as well and NYSC want you alive and it is our hope and prayers to hand you over to your parents sound, hale and hearty at the end of the service year.

“I want you to be good ambassador that we shall all be proud of during and after the service year. Do not forget to give your best to the services of the nation wherever you find yourself and always remember the motto of the NYSC Scheme – Service and Humility in whatever you do,” she stated.
