Be diligent, ALPSPN boss, Alaba, charges staff

Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Mr Seyi Alaba, has charged the staff of the association to be diligent while discharging their duties.

The programme was carried out in partnership with Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State command.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a three-day training organised for registered private guard companies in the state to tackle insecurity, which was held at Abiodun Sandey Hall, Area ‘A’ Command, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Alaba said Private Security business in Nigeria is very delicate and dangerous.

He said getting involved in the security of lives and property is big system management of logistics and expertise and requires a 24-hour-seven-days-a week of surveillance and monitoring of security operatives and other human and physical resources.

According to him, “PGC plays a vital role in the National security of this country and our role cannot be overemphasized.

The theme for this year’s 3-days training for private guards is “strengthening private guard companies for national security.” This becomes very necessary and much relevant at this period due to the present security situations in our country.

“Our gallant security guards, you are the reason why we are all gathering here today, you form a very important part of PGC in Nigeria. Without you, we cannot do anything. You are very important to us and our industry at large. I will urge you all to be diligent in discharging your duties so as to continue to make us proud.

“We as an association wish to appreciate the State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Micheal Adaralewa, the HOD PGC department, DC Folashade Adegoke, and her team, every other department, and a unit that contributed to the success of this 3-days training, we say a very big thank you,” he said.

In his remark, NSCDC Commandant, Oyo State command, Michael Adaralewa, represented by his second in command, Femi Ete, a Deputy Commandant, was optimistic that the participants will see themselves as new people after the three-day training.
