The Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, of the Nigerian Army, Bauchi, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe has charged troops of the Brigade to remain professional and committed in their service to the nation, especially in aid to civil authority.
The Commander gave the charge during a first-ever organised luncheon with troops of the Brigade held at Vulcan officers’ Mess, Shadawanka Barracks Bauchi on Saturday.
He stated that the event was organised as a mark of honour to the troops for their unwavering commitment and professionalism displayed when the Brigade hosted and won the championship of the 3 Division’s Warrant Officers and Senior Non-commissioned Officers Inter-Brigade Competition 2024; successful participation of the Brigade in the year 2024 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) which took place in Jos, provision of security to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja when he visited Bauchi State among other successful events and achievements.
Brigadier General Egbe also expressed appreciation to the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (GOC/Comd OPSH), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, for his direction and support in achieving the successes. He further thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja for his leadership style and commitment to ensuring that troops are motivated to perform their roles professionally in aid to civil authorities as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He said the luncheon was to inspire the troops in accordance with the command philosophy of the COAS.
The Commander further said that the conduct and participation of the troops were highly commendable, hence the reason for the luncheon to motivate and encourage their efforts.
He also took advantage of the occasion and presented tokens to some soldiers who sustained various degrees of injuries in the line of their service to the nation which made them physically disabled at the moment.
He said the Nigerian Army is proud of them, and will not neglect them. He further extended the token presentations to some young soldiers for their level of commitment in carrying out their roles in the Brigade.
The Commander maintained that the tokens presentations were meant to motivate them to do more and also inspire others to do better.
Also speaking at the event, the Acting Garrison Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade Garrison, Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Moddibo, expressed appreciation to the Brigade Commander for the gesture.
He urged the troops not to relent on their oars but continue to do better and make the Commander and the Nigerian Army proud. He further implored officers to emulate such avenues to spur their troops to continue to do more for the Nigerian Army and the nation.
The maiden edition of the luncheon gathered officers and soldiers serving in 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Magajiyas, and Youth Corps members serving in Shadawanka Barracks Bauchi.
