Be agents for positive change, NYO urges youths

Acting National President, Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), Mr Jerry Ugwu has stressed the need for youths to be agents of positive change in their communities.

Ugwu gave this charge while addressing a press conference in Abuja upon his assumption of office as acting Chairman.

Ugwu said the charge was in order because the nation was at a critical point where their power was essential to shape a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.

He admonished youths to be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and resources for them to thrive in the ever-evolving world.

Especially, he stressed that youths must embrace technology, digital initiatives and connectivity programs for them to participate in the digital economy and access opportunities that were once beyond their reach.

Ugwu committed the organisation to engender unity, empowerment, and collaboration among the youth that transcends ethnic, religious, and regional barriers.

He added that he would foster an inclusive environment where every young Nigerian feels heard, valued, and encouraged to contribute their unique talents and ideas.

Ugwu added: “Empowerment will be at the heart of our endeavors. We will work tirelessly to equip our youth with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to thrive in an ever-evolving world. By providing educational opportunities, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support, we will unlock the immense potential of each young Nigerian.

“Collaboration is the key to our success. We shall actively engage with government bodies, private sector organizations, and civil society to forge partnerships that amplify our impact. Together, we will advocate for policies that prioritize youth development, social justice, and sustainable progress. Our collective voice will be heard, and our actions will spark positive change.

“Furthermore, we will use technology and innovation to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, ensuring that no Nigerian youth is left behind. Through digital initiatives and connectivity programs, we will empower young people to participate in the digital economy and access opportunities that were once beyond their reach.”
