Angel
Father of the BBNaija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition housemate, Angel, has reacted to slut-shaming comments made about his daughter by the other housemates in the Big Brother House.
Video clips making rounds revealed fellow housemates: Nini, Peace, Maria gossiping, making derogatory remarks about Angel in the executive lounge on Friday.
Angel’s father, who revealed that he handles her page, reacted with an Instagram video of Angel which he captioned:
“Slut-shaming again? For how long are we going to keep addressing, educating and sensitizing on this same issue?
“There is nothing new under the sun and this is all we anticipated already, but is this really how we want to normalize profiling? We have been called slut, ashawo, loose, dirty and all sorts because of how we choose to portray ourselves physically. Judging a person does not define who they are; it defines who you are. Take off your blindfolds and see beyond appearances. Train yourself to do better as an individual so others ’round you can tap into that energy. Keep your respectability politics to yourself. The end of the day, nothing can break our girl, ko por ke, We moveeee !.”
Angel, whose real name is Angel Agnes Smith, a 21-year-old, has repeatedly been on the lips of housemates. She is known for her carefree attitude.
