#Bayelsabyelection: PDP leads in Eduwini II ward, Ekeremor LGA

The result of the Saturday senatorial bye-election in Eduwni II Ward of Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, shows a no contest poll as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leads its main challenger, the All Progressive Congress, APC, with a wide margin.

The ward has 20 polling units and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had so far posted results from 14 of the polling units.

In the results obtained from the umpire’s portal as at 8.37 pm, PDP in into 019 polled 598 votes as against the 67 votes recorded by the APC.

In unit 020, PDP scored 521 votes while APC scored 58 votes. Unit 002 showed PDP with 303 votes as against APC’s 65 votes.

Other results from the ward, as posted on INEC portal are as follows: Unit 017: PDP 490, APC 10; Unit 003: PDP 349, APC 24; Unit 004: PDP 607, APC 31; Unit 011: PDP 501, APC 100; Unit 005: PDP 322, APC 10; Unit 015: PDP 317, APC 2.

In Unit 014, PDP polled 500 votes while APC scored 45. Unit 012 showed PDP with 1,082 votes just as APC scored 51 votes.

Other Units are: 010 which has PDP with 901 as against APC with 68 votes; Unit 018 indicated that PDP scored 210 votes and APC 22 votes.

In the senatorial district, the immediate past governor of the state, Henry Seriake Dickson contested the bye-election under the PDP while a two term former deputy governor of the state, Peremobowei Ebebi, contested under APC.
