Governor Diri Duoye
Students of Nembe Kingdom in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, threw their communities into celebration mood after the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to review its February 13, 2020 judgment.
The students drawn from all tertiary institutions led by Mr Reginald Tobin described the victory of Senator Douye Diri at the Apex court as a divine mandate of God designed to restore peace in the state, especially Nembe LGA.
Tobin, the coordinator of the group, further described the judgment as a step in the right direction, stressing that any judgement contrary to the earlier ruling of the Supreme Court will relegate the value bestowed upon the Court and the judiciary in general.
According to the students who took to the streets of Yenagoa to celebrate, the deputy governorship candidate of the APC in Bayelsa State has truly defaulted as all charges levelled against him which led to his disqualification cannot be said to be false.
“We thank God almighty for affirming the victory of the PDP in the state, we also urge governor Douye Diri to always seek the face of God in all of his endeavours as he heads over the affairs of Bayelsa State.”
