The Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Bauchi State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sani Danaudi Mohammed, has disclosed that the Assembly will soon present a bill to the State House of Assembly aimed at banning the practice of “Bola Jari” (scavenging) in the state.
He made this disclosure while leading a delegation to honor the Bauchi State Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, as a Patron of the Assembly.
According to him, the bill, which is currently being drafted, seeks to address the negative effects of scavenging on young people in the state.
“We believe that banning ‘Bola Jari’ is a necessary step toward protecting the welfare and future of young people in Bauchi State,” said Rt. Hon. Sani Danaudi Mohammed.

He emphasized, “We look forward to working with the Bauchi State House of Assembly to ensure the passage of this important bill.”
The ceremony, held at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, was attended by top government officials, youth leaders, and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Sani Danaudi Mohammed praised Dr. Yakubu Adamu for his outstanding contributions to youth development and governance in Bauchi State.
“Dr. Yakubu Adamu has been a strong advocate for youth empowerment and has implemented several initiatives to support the growth and development of young people in Bauchi State,” he said.
He added, “We are honored to have him as our Patron and look forward to working closely with him to advance the interests of young people in our state.”
Dr. Yakubu Adamu, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, expressed his gratitude to the Youth Assembly of Nigeria for the honor.
He pledged to continue working tirelessly to support the development of young people in Bauchi State.
The ceremony was followed by a meeting between the Youth Assembly of Nigeria and Dr. Yakubu Adamu, where they discussed ways to collaborate on youth development initiatives and promote good governance in Bauchi State.
