Bauchi varsity mourns Emir of Ningi

The Management, Staff, and students of Sa’adu Zungur University, under the leadership of Professor Fatimah Tahir, are deeply saddened by the passing of the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya.

According to a statement by the University PRO, Auwal Hassan, “The University community mourns the loss of a revered traditional ruler, who was a symbol of wisdom, leadership, and cultural heritage. His demise is a great loss not only to the Ningi Emirate but also to the academic community.”

Professor Fatimah Tahir, Vice-Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, expressed her condolences, saying, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Emir Yunusa Danyaya. He was a great leader and a champion of education. His legacy will continue to inspire us.”

She added, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ningi Emirate, the family of the late Emir, and the people of Bauchi State. May his soul rest in peace.”

Also, the Executive Secretary of Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris on behalf of the Board expressed a profound deep sorrow over the demise of Alh. Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, the Emir of Ningi.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, stated that the late Royal Father was a 16th revered monarch of Ningi Emirate who reigned for 46 years and died in the early hours of Sunday, 25th August, 2024 after a brief illness.

In a condolence message, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris described the deceased as a great leader and a man of wisdom whose unwavering support and contribution to the development of Traditional institution, Hajj Operation /Management, and above all, progress of Bauchi State has left an indelible mark which replacement is something luckily.

In this time of deep sadness, Imam Abdurrahman  reiterated that “we stand in solidarity with His Excellency, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, the Ningi Emirate Council, the Family of the deceased and all those whose lives he torched”

He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdausi as contained in a statement by Muhammad Sani Yunusa, Information officer.
