The Management of Bauchi-owned Sa’adu Zungur University has appointed Dr. Aliyu Ahmad as the new University Librarian.
The appointment is a significant milestone in the University’s efforts to strengthen its Library services and support academic excellence.
Dr. Aliyu Ahmad having worked at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he held various positions, including Chairman, Library Liaison Committee, Chairman Library Accreditation Committee, and Head of Arabic Unit at the College of Medical Sciences, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
His expertise in library management, accreditation, and liaison will be invaluable assets to the university.
Born on May 15, 1973, Dr. Aliyu is a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and the Nigerian Library Association (NLA).
He also served as the Acting University Librarian at Khadijah University, Majiya, Jigawa State from September 2024 to December 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Professor Fatimah Tahir, expressed her delight at Dr. Aliyu’s appointment, as she welcomes him to SAZU community.
She however expressed optimism that his experience and expertise will enhance the library services and support SAZU’s academic programs.
Dr. Aliyu’s appointment takes effect immediately, and he will be responsible for leading the University’s library services, developing library policies, and collaborating with faculty and students to support academic excellence as contained in a statement by Auwal Hassan, Public Relations Officer, Sa’adu Zungur University.
