Newly promoted officers of the Nigeria Police Force have been urged to reciprocate the gesture by doing everything humanly possible to ensure law and order in their respective areas of operation just as they were admonished to shun corrupt practices.
The call was made by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Bauchi State Command, Ali Aji Janga while decorations the newly promoted officers including his Personal Assistant, Opeifa Rasheed at the Officers Mess in Bauchi on Tuesday.
Ali Janga also charged the new officers to see their promotion as a call to service pointing out that whatever is done must be in line with the ethics of the Force warning that erring officers will be punished accordingly.
To others, the Police Commissioner urged them to wait patiently for their turns because according to him everyone has his turn adding that everyone cannot be promoted at the same time.
He assured that the Police in collaboration with other security agencies are always ready to provide security of lives and properties of all residents of the state and also rid the state of all crimes and criminals.
While speaking on behalf of those promoted, the Divisional Officer, Dambam Police Division, SP Abdulmumuni Musa thanked the Management Team and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy and pledged commitment to put in their best to improve the Force.
In all, a total of 135 Police Officers were promoted to various ranks in the Force and were decorated by the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Aji Janga at a ceremony held at the Police Officers Mess.
The 135 promoted officers consist of 116 Inspectors that were promoted to the rank of Assistant Supretendent of Police (ASP), 13 ASPs why were promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), three DSPs were also promoted to the rank of Supretendent of Police (SP) and Three Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) who were promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
