The Bauchi State Executive Council (SEC) has approved the sum of N20bn for the construction of rural roads across the state in order to open up the areas.
The roads according to the Commissioner of Works and Transport, Abdulkadir Ibrahim are: Miya to Soro in Ganjuwa LGA; Rishi to Tulu to Tama in Toro LGA; Rimin-Zayam to Polchi connecting Toro and Dass LGAs as well as the Misau to Miya linking Misau and Ganjuwa LGA’s.
The Commissioner added that other road projects approved are the rehabilitation of critical rural roads including Mararaban Liman Katagum road; Yashi to Guguri road and some township roads in Azare.
Abdulkadir Ibrahim while briefing reporters on last weekend shortly after the end of the State Executive Council meeting said that the development is part of the fulfillment of the campaign promises made to the people.
The Commissioner also said that the roads approved for construction cover over 200 kilometers with the aim of taking development to the grassroots and give the people a sense of belonging.
He assured that the projects which will be flagged off immediately will be completed and put to use without compromising standards of construction.
The Commissioner then urged the people of the state to continue to support the government in its efforts to provide effective leadership in the state assuring that more of such projects will be embarked upon by the government before the end of the tenure.
