A total sum of N500m has been expended for the complete renovation and construction of fully equipped Primary Health Centers, Maternities and blocks of classrooms by Bauchi State office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the last one year under the Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP) intervention program.
The projects which were for the 2019 intervention program of SDGs for the state was meant to improve health delivery services particularly in hard to reach terrains and upgrade standard and quality of education at the foundation level.
The disclosure was at the site of one of the PHCs in Dass by the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of the SDGs, Engineer Mukhtar Musa, while conducting Journalists round some of the projects embarked upon by the present administration in the state.
He explained that in the health sector, a total of 6 health facilities across the state have been completely rehabilitated and expanded for effective service delivery saying that a total of the sum of N80m was spent for the project.

Mukhtar Musa further explained that the projects were captured under the 2019 intervention program adding that all the facilities were the one done in 2008 and needed to be rehabilitated and upgraded.
The director added that water supply to the facilities was prioritized because according to him regular water supply is one of the key indicators for a robust health services provision adding that host communities were considered for the supply to enable them to benefit with reticulation within the communities.
He added that even animals were considered in the water supply as a place was created for the animals to drink water on a daily basis a development he said has made relating more cordial.
On education sector, he said that the sum of N420m was spent to renovate and equip selected schools across the state just as new blocks of classrooms were added in some areas all in the 2019 intervention adding however that the state had to pay its counterpart funding before accessing the lump sum for the intervention program.
