Bauchi hospital management board restates commitment to effective healthcare services

The Bauchi State Hospital Management Board (HMB) has reiterated its commitment to providing effective and efficient healthcare service delivery to the state’s people.

This commitment was emphasised by the Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Dr Muhammad Sambo Alkali, during his inspection of activities at the State Specialists Hospital in Bauchi.

It is worth recalling that, to meet the human service needs of various hospitals across the state, the Board recently entered into an agreement with doctors working in various General Hospitals across the 20 local government areas.

These doctors agreed to offer their services to other hospitals in the areas while observing their holidays.

The plan is proving successful, as the Specialists Hospital and other General hospitals are now delivering effective service to the people.

During the inspection of services and exercises at the State Specialists Hospital, the Executive Chairman of the Board, accompanied by the representative of the Head of the Bauchi State Civil Service, charged the doctors to continue respecting the terms of the agreement.

The Chairman also stated that this decision was made as part of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s efforts to provide effective healthcare services to the people despite all difficulties.

He emphasised that the arrangement is paying off by addressing manpower challenges in the health sector and commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his support.

The Chief Medical Director of Bauchi Specialists Hospital, Dr. Yau Gital, expressed appreciation for the support from the Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Hospitals Management Board, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, and Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the innovation.

He noted that with this development, healthcare services have improved and pledged to continue partnering with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective healthcare services in the state.
