Bauchi gov orders immediate release of dead retirees’ entitlements

On a compassionate note, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, has ordered for the immediate payment of all gratuities of retired civil servants who recently lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident along Bauchi-Dass road.

The deceased was said to have lost their lives when their vehicle was involved in an accident while on their way back to from Bauchi where they had gone for paperwork for the payment of their entitlements.

The governor gave the directive on Wednesday when he paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Bilyaminu Othman Bilyamu, in his palace in Dass, Dass Local government Area of the state describing the accident as most unfortunate but should be taken as an act of Allah, the giver and taker of life.

Bala Mohammed said that he received the news of the incident as shocking, describing it as unfortunate, apologising for not visiting for condolences before now due to the exigencies of his office coupled with the fact that he was not in the state when it happened.

While sympathising with the families of those who lost their lives, he prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed just as he also commiserated with the Emir over the loss of his subjects.

While responding, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Bilyaminu Othman Bilyaminu, expressed gratitude to the state governor for the condolence saying that it a demonstration of concern for the people which is worthy of emulation by all those in the position of authority.

The Emir revealed that the deceased were retirees who were going on a business meeting in which six people died and three sustain various degrees of injuries and are now receiving treatment.

The royal father also used the medium to thank the governor for the visit and the directive he gave for the immediate payment of their gratuity saying that it will go a long way to cushion the loss by the immediate families.

It will be recalled that two weeks ago a fatal accident in Bayara, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis along Bauchi-Dass road, involving a commercial bus claimed 6 lives from Dass.
