Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has approved the immediate disengagement of all political office holders including the dissolution of all Local Government Councils Management Committee members in the State.
The order for the disengagement and dissolution was contained in a terse statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mohammed Sabiu Baba, copies of which were made available to Journalists in Bauchi late Friday night.
The statement reads in part: “His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed CON, (Kauran Bauchi), the Executive Governor of Bauchi State has approved the disengagement of all political office holders with effect from 31st May, 2019.”
The statement further contained that, members of Boards of Parastatals, Extra-Ministerial Departments, Directors-General as well as Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen are all affected by the directive.
It however, contained that members of all Statutory Commissions, Civil Service Commission (CSC) , Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) and State Assembly Service Commission (SASC) are exempted from the directive.
The statement therefore directed that all those affected should immediately prepare their handover notes and hand over to the most senior officers in the respective agencies.
While the Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen are directed to handover to the Heads Administration of their respective LGAs, the others are directed to hand over to Permanent Secretaries or the most senior Directors as the case may be.
