Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has assured that his administration is poised to conducting a free, fair and acceptable LG elections schedule for August 17, 2024.
Recall that the State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) has fixed conduct of the election to 10th August earlier before shifting it to the 17th of August, 2024.
The Governor was speaking on Sunday evening when he participated at the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), pushing for greater representation of Women and Youths in executive roles.
Bala Mohammed interacted with the State leadership of the Party, Executives and the Caretaker Committee Chairmen of the Twenty Local Governments, restating that arrangements for the Party congresses to elect candidates have also been finalized hence the need for support and commitment of all to ensure its success.
According to him, “Together, we can ensure the victory of PDP at the next local government elections.”
The Governor also charged the Leadership and members of the Party across the state to ensure victory at all the candidates of the party.
He thanked the stakeholders for their continued support to the administration and promised to work with them from all over the state to make sure the next local government elections and PDP Congresses were successful.

In his remarks, State PDP Chairman, Alh. Hamza Koshe Akuyam assured the Governor that the leadership of the party as well as the entire stakeholders will give maximum cooperation in a way that will keep the party strong going forward towards ensuring victory at the local government elections as well as assured the Governor of continues loyalty and support.
The primary subject of conversation at the Congress was, the approaching local elections in Bauchi State, and the subject of local government autonomy.
