As agitation for the inclusion of more women in the administration of Bauchi State continues to mount, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Hajiya Amina Muhammad Katagum as Focal Person and Special Adviser, Social Investment Programme.
The appointment was contained in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, stating that Amina Muhammad Katagum was appointed to replace the immediate past Adviser who was recently elected as the member representing Gamawa federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Ahmed Madaki Gololo.
According to the statement, the newly appointed Adviser hailed from Zaki Local Government Area of the state and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy all from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
It noted that Amina Katagum was a one-time Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as well as Chairperson of many Boards and Commissions both within and outside the state.
Hajiya Amina Katagum, a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management and a fellow of the Institute of Industrialist and Corporate Administration and her appointment is with immediate effect.
