Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya (Dr) Aisha Mohammed has commissioned the Safe Schools Response Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Bauchi, the First Lady said that her office will partner with the NSCDC and other relevant stakeholders in ensuring the success of the Safe Schools Response squad for educational growth and development.
The Bauchi State School Response Squad coordinating office is situated at the NSCDC Command office in Bauchi.
Mrs Mohammed said that the initiative will assist greatly in protecting children from all forms of violence, bullying or any sort of maltreatment that is harmful to children.
She charged the NSCDC officials to work towards ensuring the success of the program.
According to her, the initiative, if properly implemented, would assist in safeguarding the rights of children in schools, retain them in school and assist in addressing the problem of out-of-school children in the state.
It will also check Youths’ restiveness and commended Governor Bala Mohammed’s efforts in improving the quality of education in the state.
In his remarks, the NSCDC State Commandant, Ilelaboye Oyejide, commended the First Lady for the partnership and pledged to work for the success of the initiative for the good of all.
