Bauchi confirms death of ex-Perm Sec on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia

Management of the Bauchi State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board (BSMPWB) has confirmed the death of a former Permanent Secretary in the  State Civil Service, Alhaji Ado Santuraki Pali, who died while performing the 2019 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The death of the former Permanent Secretary who was one of the ardent supporters of the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir was disclosed in a media statement signed by the Information Officer, Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mohammed Yunusa, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

The late Ado Santurakin Pali who hails from Pali District of Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State was retired compulsorily by the immediate past Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, in 2017 at the inception of the APC-led administration.

Before he retired, he had served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Ministry for Power as well as State Hospitals Management Board, among others MDAs.

Mohammed Yunusa, in the statement, stated that already the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir who is also performing the Hajj has condoled the family of the deceased over the unfortunate incident.

He stated that: “Bala Mohammed again condoled with families, government and good people of Bauchi State over the death of one of Bauchi pilgrims, Alh. Ado Santuraki Pali, a former Permanent Secretary to Bauchi State Government.”

Also contained in the statement is that the Governor felicitated with the Bauchi State pilgrims over their successful completion of the Hajj rites and the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in a message during a special visit at the pilgrims’ tent in Muna, to address the Bauchi State contingents in Saudi Arabia.

The Information Officer stated that Governor Mohammed reiterated his government’s commitment to continue to provide all the needed requirements to pilgrims during the remaining days in Makka, aimed at enabling them to perform pilgrimage with ease.

“The Governor reaffirmed his promise to pay a special package to all the pilgrims in Makka at the time the pilgrims need such a support most. The Governor, therefore, called on the Pilgrims to intensify prayers for Bauchi State and Nigeria to overcome all her socioeconomic, political and security challenges and to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.”
