The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has declared that it has done a postmortem of the election and discovered the reason for the loss which it will immediately address.
The disclosure was made by the Spokesperson of the PDP, Yayanuwa Zainabari, while speaking to journalists, on Tuesday, emphasising that the party has understood its lapses that led to the defeat assuring that the lapses will be corrected so that the party will win all the seats being occupied by the APC in the State House of Assembly come 2023.
The State PDP publicity secretary, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, also opined that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who represents the constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly was not instrumental to the APC’s victory in the election as being insinuated.
According to him, Yakubu Dogara never won elections in Dass local government since he ventured into politics claiming that the former Speaker only used to win in Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa local governments which are his political stronghold and base.
Yayanuwa Zainabari said that even in the last 2019 polls, Yakubu Dogara’s opponent defeated him in Dass local government saying, “Even though we lost this election in Dass local government which is one of the local government areas Dogara represents, he cannot claim the credit.”

He added that “For instance, in the 2019 election, Dogara did not win in Dass. Therefore, credit goes to the APC, not Dogara.”
He, however, asserted that Governor Bala Mohammed deserved commendation for allowing the electoral body to conduct a free and fair election without interference.
The party also noted that the PDP led government has provided a higher institution in the local government which hitherto was the only emirate in the state without a tertiary institution calling on the residents of the area to support the government and party in next election.
It will be recalled that the build-up to the election was a direct battle for political supremacy between the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, and the former Speaker of the House of Reps, Barrister Yakubu Dogara considering that the duo who worked together for the 2019 general election under the PDP, recently parted ways as Yakubu Dogara retraced his steps back to the APC.
