Bauchi ACReSAL, L-PRES partner to work for better environment

Bauchi State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project has pledged to collaborate with World Bank project, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) to have a much friendly environment.

The pledge was made on Friday when the Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Dr Ibrahim Kabir received the state Project Coordinator, L-PRES, Dr. Rose Danladi Idi and her Team during a courtesy visit to the SPMU.

Ibrahim Kabir while welcoming the Team appreciated Dr Rose Danladi for the visit and promised to work in synergy to achieve a common goal regarding the environment.

He said that ACReSAL will guide and collaborate with the L-PRES PIU towards achieving success in both projects; and added that teamwork is paramount in achieving success.

The SPC also called on Dr Rose Danladi to ensure knowledge sharing and capacity building among her officers, saying that this will help in carrying everyone along and prayed for the success of the two projects in the state.

In a documentary presentation, Dr Kabir briefed the L-PRES project team about ACReSAL, its components and the successes so far recorded by the Bauchi SPMU and assured them of more engagements in the future to achieve the target objectives of His Excellency Governor Sen Bala Mohammed “MY BAUCHI PROJECT” initiative.

Earlier in her remarks, the Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Dr Rose Danladi Idi said that they were at the SPMU to familiarise themselves with ACReSAL.

Also to introduce L-PRES, its objectives, components and identify areas of synergy for both projects and to see where necessary the two projects will be harmonized.

Rose Danladi Idi also said that the project focuses mainly on value chain actors in the livestock industry.

According to her, Bauchi state selects Cattle and small ruminants with comparative advantage to the state, with the largest number of gazetted forest reserves and the Bauchi meat factory among others.

With three technical and one management component, Dr Rose Danladi said that L-PRES is also working directly with the environment and issues of climate change.

She then urged ACReSAL to synergise with them in order to achieve project implementation.
