Bauchi State Office of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) and the Savannah Institute for Sustainable Development (SISDV), the project’s focal NGO, are committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the project in the state.
The assurance was given during a meeting between the two organisations on how best to implement the project successfully.
Also the meeting focused on the engagement of FoNGO to train 1000 youths tagged ” Community Green Vanguard” in green business activities to nurture, grow and general care for Nurseries to be established in all the 20 LGAs of the state with a view to support the youths.
During the meeting, Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, the State Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, reiterated the commitment of the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) towards achieving the project’s objectives of restoring degraded land through massive plantations and other related activities.
Ibrahim Kabir also highlighted the importance of training community members, particularly youths, in brick making as a form of empowerment to enhance their livelihoods and ensure project sustainability.
Executive Director of FoNGO, Mrs. Titi Yakubu, expressed confidence in SISDV’s commitment to the project’s success, emphasizing its potential to empower Bauchi’s youth and improve the state’s overall well-being.
Chairman of SISDV, Professor A.Q. Ibrahim, pledged support for greening Bauchi state and enhancing the living standards of its people.
The meeting also addressed the significance of commemorating international days related to
agriculture, environment, and water resources, with FoNGO tasked to prepare accordingly.
