Why Basketmouth got knighted by the Queen of England

News spread on social media during the week of ace comedian, Basketmouth being knighted by the Queen of England.

The comedian himself posted pictures of the event on his Instagram handle with the inscription:

“Guess who just got knighted by the Queen of England……I’m humbled, God is truly amazing. Your majesty, thank you for the great honor….yours truly Sir Okpocha Bright.”

“Now I’m officially the Lord of the rib”.

The post received overwhelming responses from his fans, who took turns to congratulate him for the astounding honour, even though the Queen was said to have been ill and in no shape for customary duties.

Basketmouth later posted the full video of the ceremony, dousing the excitement from his fans and followers.

The ceremony was apparently a skit to promote his upcoming comedy show: Lords of the Ribs.

He was recently in Wembley where he met the Mayor of London ahead of his comedy show, which possibly inspired the sham.

It is recalled also that the popular comedian had earlier declared to run for President of Nigeria in 2019, following the victory of Donald Trump.

He, on his Instagram account on November 9, 2016, wrote: “My Esteemed people, in fulfillment of my threat/promise regarding the outcome of the just concluded #uspresidentialelection. I am announcing my candidacy for the Office of the President of our dear country in the 2019 general elections. Consultations are ongoing and I will announce at a future date under what party. #MakeNigeriaBRIGHTAgain.”
