The cross country concert, promoted by Nigeria’s Data Grandmasters, Globacom, first landed in Port Harcourt on April 16 2017.
While the first Port Harcourt show was a big bang, Laffta Fest II was even bigger, and held this time around at the Hub Event Centre, for the benefit of Globacom subscribers resident in the Trans Amadi area of the city.
Other comedians who performed at the Port Harcourt show were TwoCanTok, Omo Baba; Dan D’Humorous and Bovi. Together they made the Port Harcourt show a concert not to be soon forgotten.
TwoCanTok opened the floodgates of jokes poking fun at the rich and the poor. Omo Baba took over and pushed the humour-meter further with his jokes. He compared songs by old artistes and new artistes while Acapella was the bomb with a series of funny one-liners.
Dan D’Humorous whose birthday fell on that same day came on stage dressed in a white ensemble popularly called south-south, with a bowler’s hat to match. He had a blast as he at once connected with the audience and was rewarded with a standing ovation.
Bovi also had his birthday coming up the following day and got the audience to sing him a happy birthday song. Gordons, Basketmouth, raised the roof as they closed the show.
Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim and Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, were the celebrity masters of ceremonies while Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor and Richard Mofe-Damijo made celebrity appearances.
The 27-city comedy tour debuted in Port Harcourt on April 16, 2017 and had been to 22 other locations before returning to Port Harcourt on Sunday.
