Bandits early in the week attacked Kanya, a community in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing two persons and abducting the district head, Alhaji Isah Daya, along with eight others.
The midnight attack resulted in the deaths of one Sheriff Almu and another person, while three others who suffered gunshot wounds are currently receiving medical treatment.
The incident occurred just two days after bandits killed the APC chairman of Suru Local Government Area, Alhaji Bako Bala, in his hometown, Takalafiya. Also, one person was abducted in Matseri village, located in the Bunza area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nafiu Abubakar (SP), confirmed the attack, stating that a combined security team, led by the police, has launched a manhunt to rescue the abducted district head and other individuals and apprehend the assailants.
