Bandits kidnap four in Kaduna

Published by

BANDITS on Friday abducted four persons during an early-morning invasion of Zango Shannu in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This came five days after some gunmen stormed the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Afaka, also in Kaduna State, where they killed two military officers and abducted one other.

Speaking on the Friday abduction, a resident of Zango Shannu, Musa Yahuza, said the bandits arrived in their numbers and shot sporadically in the air to scare the residents, many of whom had already gone to bed.

“They stormed Unguwar Mallam Sule, which is a stone’s throw from Zango, and started moving from house to house.

“They abducted four people and left. By the time security personnel arrived, the bandits had moved into the forest with their victims,” Yahuza said.

The spokesman for the state police command, Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the incident.
