IN order to eradicate the confusion encountered by many in making a decision of the right career path and also curb misconception on career choices of the youth by parents or guardians, Abosede Balogun has put together a project tagged, ShareYourStory, to educate the public, especially the young executives on human resource policies, while preparing them for the white-collar job environment.
The concept will be a weekly publication and it will involve readers sharing their stories on each topic discussed in the publication. The feedback will also be shared on the platform for people to learn.
According to her, she is inspired by her experiences to start the project to encourage others through short stories, which is focused on people’s life experiences for others to learn.
“These work experiences of mine is about 20 years and it spans across various organizations, such as Trans-Nationwide Express (now Tranex) in the courier industry, First Atlantic Bank (now FCMB) in the banking industry and NLNG in the oil and gas industry, among others,” she stated.
The project is focused on personal life experience of individual writers which cuts across career, academic achievements, fashion and finance, relationship challenges, family background and social lifestyle, which the writer had experienced.
The underlying principle of the ShareYourStory concept is that all stories must be based on real life experiences and not fiction; it will be based on everyday lifestyle situations.
“The purpose of the Share Your Story concept is to teach people to forget any bitter past experience and move on with life so as to achieve inner peace. It is also a way to allow people share their stories so that people could learn since you never know it all in the school of life circumstances,” Balogun stated.
The mission of the project is to teach the younger generation about strategies to surmount any life situation they might come across and it is open to everyone that has a story to tell through shareyourstorywithabosede@gmail.com or WhatsApp message to 08130633359.
