FOR over a decade, the Tunwase Court, the country home of the Olori Omooba of Ijebu, Otunba Subomi Balogun in Ijebu Ode, has become a yearly rally point for all ijebus to observe the New Year thanksgiving prayers which is greeted by different special songspirations.
Yearly, the numbers of participants have continued to increase with spillover of attendees hanging outside the vanue to catch the gleams of the service conducted by clergymen cut across all denomination in the chritiandom in Ogun State.

The prayer session which is now a ritual has continue to showcase and celebrate the bond that exist among Ijebu people, even with their religion and cultural believes, the Tunwase Court has shows a topmost communual liberalization through the gathering.
The gathering no doubt by the definition of tourism (Any event that takes an individual or group out of his immediate environment for more than a day and less than a year that demand the any activities that involve transactions; using transportation of any means, lodging or buying anything that contributes to the economic status of the environment or community in question, has experience a tourism activity).
However, the 2019 thanksgiving and prayer session actually fulled this intention and by that standard, the event is qualified to be a tourism compotent as most of the attendees travelled all the way from Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja as well as other host community within and outside the state to be part of the programme, which allowed different transactions that benefits the community took place.
During the prayer session, the congregation were urged to use their electoral power wisely as the election date draws nearer, according to one the officiating clerics who admonished the gathering, said “I want to implore all and sundry to use their voters card wisely and for the right choice in other to vote in the right person that will bring the dividend of democracy to the people.
He added that the voter card is the only power the masses have when it comes to election of leaders, praying that the Almighty God will give individual the wisdom to vote the best for Nigeria.
The cleric thanked the host of the New Year prayer, Otunba Subomi Balogun for his steadfast and kindness at organising the yearly thanksgiving services and prayer for the people of Ijebuland, praying that God will continue to strengthen him in his humanitarian calling and service to God Almighty.
While thanking all other royalties and digniteries in attendance, the clergy called for continuous coexistent among the people which he said is a sign of God’s love for the people of Ijebu.
In his remarks, the Founder of FCMB Group Otunba Subomi Balogun who rose and danced to the rostrum with a special number and praises said the New Year prayer is one of those moments he has always look forth to and he thank God that everyone was able to make another new year.
“I have come to thank God for his awesomeness and grace that over 30 years I have assumed the position of the Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians has continued to bless me and my household with abundance of grace.
He also thanked the royal fathers, clergies, friends, sons and daughters of Ijebu for their support at making the New Year prayer a success.
“I believe God has His own ways of answering prayers. It is not the way we mortals percieve’s it. We are a praying people and I am convience that the good Lord hears our prayers and accept all that we asked for.”
