Badoo: Archbishop Martins tasks Lagos govt on security

Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Reverend (Dr) Alfred Adewale Martins, has urged the Lagos State government to be proactive towards guaranteeing the safety of lives in the state, in the light of recent ritual killings.

He spoke at a press briefing on Friday during his 5th installation anniversary thanksgiving mass.

He also said he supported the setting up of a restructuring committee.

He blamed Nigerians for not taking the fight against corruption seriously, and called for more support for government in that regard.

While condemning the activities of ritualists, especially the Badoo cult, in Lagos, he consoled families that had lost members and called on the state government to check the menace of the group.

He advised Nigerians to pray for good leaders that would work for the development of Nigeria. He lamented the long absence of the President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that it was affecting the nation’s economy and advocated a bill establishing state-of-the-art hospitals in Nigeria so that the country can save money currently being expended on  medical treatment abroad.
