Badagry community expresses displeasure over constituency 1 house of assembly result

Published by

THE Badagry community has staged a protest expressing displeasure over the House of Assembly results released by INEC in favour of Hon. Layode Ibrahim as against the collated result during the primaries in favour of Mr Yahaya Lateef.

This was in reaction to the display of the list of eligible candidates for the 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections by The Independent National Electoral Commission in the State.

The Convener Of The Protest, Mr. Samuel Aivoji said that it is a plan by some cabals to upturn the result.

“It is very disheartening that after the good people of Badagry had voted Mr Yahaya Lateef during the APC Primary which was very glaring and neatly recorded by the LGA returning officer, Hon Avoseh Suru, some cabals have decided to upturn the result in favour of a fourth timer.

“It is a pity that those we call leaders have failed us woefully by selling the people’s choice for money and selfish interest.

“It was a gang up between Chief Sunny Ajose, Hon Obasa the present speaker of the House of Assembly, Alh Tunde Balogun and a few others.

Samuel, who advocates for effective justice on the issue, said that redress should be effected immediately so as not to mar the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.

“If truly our party wants total victory in an upcoming election in 2019, then our mandate must be returned.

“It was very obvious that Yayaha Lateef won the election for the House of Assembly and we see no reason why it should upturned and given to someone else.” Samuel (LOCCO) hinted.
