Babcock University, Ilisan- Remo, Ogun State, has rewarded Emmanuel Oluwanifemi, who scored the highest mark (357 out of 400) in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) among the newly admitted students with certificate of excellence.
The institution also rewarded Eniola Kujenya, Adigwu Isaac and Osaite Arigbe-Osula, who scored 14 out of 15 points in their 2022 JUPEB programme. Also rwarded is Chukwuemeka Anene, who had the highest CGPA of 4. 76 out of 5.0 in the university’s pre-degree programme with certificates of excellence
They were given the awards at the matriculation ceremony of the newly-admitted students, totalling 3,627 for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The president/vice chancellor of the university, Professor Tayo Ademola congratulated the new students and their parents, saying that they have made a wise choice to pursue higher education at Babcock University.
He stated that the university trains students to become agents of positive change and problem-solvers
He assured them that the university is ready to equip them with such knowledge, skills and acceptable character in the society.
The vice chancellor declared that all the courses and programmes being run by the university are accredited by the relevant bodies, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), International Board of Education (IBE) USA, the Adventist Accrediting Association (AA), USA, among others.
He said that is why Babcock University is one of the most sought-after universities in the country, promising that the school will continue to support their academic ambitions and celebrate virtues of integrity, hardwork, and godly conduct among them.
He, however, cautioned them not to engage in any social vices such as hooliganism, cultism, bullying, examination misconduct, stealing, drug addiction and so forth, saying the university has a zero tolerance for any of them.
In his own remark, Senior Vice President, Academics, Prof Philemon Amanze urged them that now matriculation was over, they should face their studies and other activities expected of them so that they would graduate in record time and with good grades.
