B-NOAS: NDE flags off ICT, fashion design training for 20 Zamfara youths

The Director General (DG) of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, has flagged off the training of 20 youth on computer, and fashion design as part of life skills training of Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) in Zamfara state state.

The NDE DG stated this in Gusau on Thursday evening while flagging off training of unemployed youth on computer, web design and fashion design as part of life skills training of the B-NOAS in the state.

He disclosed that NDE has injected Artisan (technicians) in various skills into the economy of rural areas across the thirty-six states and FCT. 

Fikpo, represented by the Zamfara state NDE Coordinator, Khadija Hamza Kolo, said the training was an opportunity for the selected youth in the state.

According to him, it’s a wonderful opportunity for selected Batch “A” B-NOAS trainees 2024.

“The NDE in order to ensure its mandate achieved and impact felt in all the nooks and crannies of this country, the VSD department over the years through the instrument of BASIC NATIONAL OPEN APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME (B-NOAS) has injected a large number of Artisan (technicians) in various skills into the economy of rural areas across the thirty-six state and FCT”. 

“This was realized after exposing them to specialize in skills acquisition training in some selected competitive demand-driven skills are short-term but marketable.

She said NDE In order to reinforce this laudable achievement, the management has approved the provision of recruiting 20 B-NOAS Batch A Trainees in Computer Web Design and Fashion design.

According to the coordinator, the training aimed to train unemployed persons to create employment opportunities for others through the multiplier effect and to provide management support services to beneficiaries.

The training may also mobilise efforts of government and non-governmental organizations through collaboration.

“However, the Trainees have been recruited and currently receiving Training for the period of three (3) Months”. 

“This Training is going on across the thirty-six (36) states of the Federation including Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja”.

“It may interest you to know that all the twenty (20) Trainees undergoing this training would be paid a monthly stipend of N5,000.00 per month for the period of the training and the trainers will be paid for their services at the rate of N5,000.00 per trainee in each month depends on the number of trainees attached to the master-trainer.

” I want to request the indulgence of the trainees to be steadfast in their training wherever they are posted and to remain committed in the training because there will be routine monitoring and Supervision by both staff from the state office and Headquarters to ensure quality training delivery”.

 “I want to stress that, we will not tolerate any act of indiscipline from any trainee and where such case exit we will not hesitate to take appropriate action, including withdrawal of trainee from the programme immediately,” he warned 

He appreciated both NDE Zamfara State staff and Headquarters for their support and cooperation towards the success of this great occasion.

“I thank the invited guest, master trainers and members of the press for finding time to attend this ceremony despite their numerous schedules, and the NDE master trainers for their perseverance and patience in the training of our trainees despite the meagre amount paid to them,”.he appreciated
