The summit, put together by South-West Patriots Movement, in collaboration with the Awolowo Foundation, Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) and Oodua Chambers of Commerce and Industry, will hold at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Hall, Abeokuta, Ogun State, at 10:00 a.m.
In a release by the publicity committee of the summit, tagged: ‘South-West Stakeholders’ Education and Economic Development Summit’, other resource persons at the occasion are the legal icon, Chief Afe Babalola, Professor Victor Adeyeye of NISER and Professor Peter Adeniyi, former vice chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Akure.
Chief Babalola, according to the release, will deliver paper on education, Professor Adeyeye will deliver paper on economic development agenda while Professor Adeniyi’s paper will be on economic use of land.
The publicity committee listed Dr Yemi Farounbi, Dr Kunle Olajide, Chief Gani Adams and Senator Remi Okunrinboye, as discussants at the event.
According to the release, Dr Christopher Kolade will chair the summit, Chief Bisi Akande, former governor of Osun State, will give keynote address, while Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State are father of the day and chief host respectively.
Governors Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, and Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, are being expected at the one-day event.
Expected to lead traditional leaders to the occasion are Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife; Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo, while Sir (Dr) Kessington Adebutu is to be the special guest of honour.
