Auto crash claims 3 on Lagos/ Ibadan expressway

THREE persons lost their lives on Monday afternoon, in an accident involving a Black Honda CRV Jeep and White DAF trailer on Sagamu end of the Lagos /Ibadan Expressway.

The incident was confirmed by the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Clement Oladele.

The FRSC boss attributed the cause of the accident to excessive over speeding and route violation.

He explained further that the accident involved five persons, two males and three females, leaving two females and a male dead, while the two surviving victims were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.

He equally said that the remains of the dead ones have been deposited in the morgue of the hospital.

Oladele said, “The accident happened around 2pm and the rescue team were on ground to immediately manage the situation.

“The accident, which involved a black Honda CRV with registration number KRD 933DD and White Daf Trailer with registration number JJJ 107 XD was caused by route violation and speed violation.

“The accident involved five persons, two male and three female in which one male and one female got injured while one male and two female died in the accident,” he said.

He advised motorists against over speeding and also urged them to obey traffic rules and regulations.
