SINCE the country was declared free of the deadly Ebola virus, the awareness about this disease has been on the decrease; the same thing also goes for Lassa fever. It is even now that we should step up the awareness among Nigerians so that such deadly diseases won’t find their way into our country again.
This is also an opportunity to encourage Nigerians to be clean, since one of the ways through which one can prevent diseases is through constant hand washing. Apart from the deadly diseases, frequent hand washing will also prevent diarrhoea, sore throat, and other mild ailments.
I hope the Ministry of Health will step up the campaign on how to avoid contracting deadly diseases like Ebola and Lassa fever, particularly by encourage hand washing among Nigerians.
