The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has enjoined both the state and federal governments to give adequate attention to the insecurity and escalating violence in Plateau, Benue, and Kaduna state.
Addressing newsmen at the headquarters of the church in Jos, Plateau State, on Friday, the Secretary-General of ECWA, Reverend Ayuba Asheshe, said this has become imperative because of the long-term consequences concerning food security and the overall well-being of communities.
Reverend Asheshe, who said the denomination is deeply pained by the escalating violence, urged the government at all levels, as well as all stakeholders, to urgently address the interconnected menaces.

He called for a concerted effort to develop and implement effective strategies to combat banditry, kidnapping, and militia attacks, and to restore peace and security to rural areas, adding that it has become imperative that everyone work together to create safe havens for the present and future generations.
On the recent killings in parts of Plateau State, the Reverend tasked the Federal Government and security agencies to act swiftly and decisively in bringing the perpetrators of the attacks to justice, adding that the lack of political will to bring such perpetrators to book has further emboldened them to carry out more dastardly acts.
The ECWA Secretary-General, who called on the Plateau State Government to provide immediate relief and resettlement support to the displaced, further enjoined the international community, human rights organizations, and global church bodies to raise their voices and stand in solidarity with the suffering people of Plateau State and Nigeria.
“Every community should, as much as possible, prepare itself by being vigilant. Reflecting on these events, we remind all Christians of the biblical warnings in Matthew 24 concerning the end times and the need for deep introspection on our lives and readiness to meet Jesus.
“Let us turn back to God, who will fight for us. ECWA mourns the loss of every precious life and stands firm in solidarity, prayer, and action with the bereaved and displaced.
“We remain committed to supporting the affected communities and working with relevant authorities to find lasting solutions to these crises,” he said.
