The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere has condemned the attack on the convoy of the wife of Ekiti State governor Mrs. Bisi Fayemi by students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, describing it as an act of “hooliganism”.
The Ekiti State chapter of the group in a statement said it was wrong for the students to transfer their grievances about power outage on the governor’s wife.
The statement was signed by the chairman, Elder Yemi Alade, Secretary, Chief Ronke Okusanya and the Publicity Secretary, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae in Ado-Ekiti.

” This attack was very sad, ugly and unwarranted and we join all well meaning Nigerians to condemn the fracas which we understand was very deadly.
“It was bad manners for those calling themselves leaders of tomorrow to misbehave and to transfer their aggression with high level of irrational behaviour on the governor’s wife who was on a peaceful visitation across the state.
“The attack on the governor’s wife, who was on tour to reconnect with the women of Ekiti and to better their lives, was, to say the least, an act of condemnable hooliganism.
” We call on authorities of the University to do the needful before the institution is reopened and bring those involved to judgement to serve as deterrents against future occurence,” the group said.
