Atiku wins 8 out of 9 LGAS so far declared by Rivers INEC

THE Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alh. Atiku Abubakar has won 8 out of the 9 local government areas whose results have been so far released by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers State.

Atiku polled a total of 172,321 votes out of the total 244,055 votes cast in the 9 local government areas while his counterpart, President Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress APC scored a total 71, 734 less than 50% of total votes cast.

The local governments won by Atiku are Oyigbo, Omuma, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni and Obio/Akpor local government areas. Others are Eleme, Gokana, Andoni and Etche.

President Mohammadu Buhari won only in Asari-Toru local government area where he polled a total of 18,180 votes against Atiku’s 3175.

Other results are still being awaited even as INEC says it would commence the collation of more results from 10 am this morning.
